Works closely with Regional and Content Area Coordinators and Specialists to ensure program sites are operating within the NM PreK Program Standards, Head Start Program Performance Standards and CPLC policies and procedures and to support children and families. Promotes school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively always supervise children by sight and sound and in all environments. Maintains all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitates health practices to keep children safe in the outdoor and indoor environments.

Education/Background:

SPECIALIZATIONS
- Candidate must have or be eligible to complete a TB test and receive a TDAP vaccination.
- Candidate may be required to pass a physical and all required background checks per Head Start, state, local and licensure regulations to include a Child Abuse and Neglect register check and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Candidate must have and maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance within the state of their residence.
- Must be First Aid and CPR certified or obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment.
Education/Background:
- Minimum education qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in human services or education
- 5 years of experience in an early childhood education environment
- 2 years of management and supervision experience. Other requirements:
- Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
- Experience working with low-income and culturally diverse children, families and communities.
- Must demonstrate experience in early childhood education programs and services, community-based collaboration, partnership development, and cross system service planning and development.
- Strong knowledge of financial and budget management.
- Strong capacity building, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Effective leadership, management/supervision and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Head Start philosophy and principles of shared governance and decision making.
- Proficient computer, software (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Adobe) and web-based systems ability.
- Valid driver's license in good standing and proof of insurance.
- Experience and commitment to working with multi-ethnic, multicultural, low-income populations.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, especially Microsoft teams).
- Proven supervisory and effective leadership skills.
- Excellent documentation and clinical skills.
- Proven ability to follow-up and meet deadlines.
- Excellent initiative, flexibility, and stress-management in handling the demands of leadership.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate in order to balance the many responsibilities, and address the various issues, that a leader faces during the workday.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and/or HSPPS and Head Start Act.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
