Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
- You will be responsible for preparing, purchasing, storing, and serving food in accordance with USDA/CACFP and New Mexico Environmental Division and other related child nutrition policies and procedures.
- You must be able to adapt to daily fast-paced food service environment for young children and work cooperatively and supportively with center staff.
- You will ensure all activities and interactions will be in conformance with all federal, state, and local regulations, standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
Education/Background:
- High School or GED
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; or Child Development Associate (CDA) or New Mexico Child Development Certificate or willing to work towards requirements within a specific timeframe identified by the program.
- Previous cooking experience required.
- First Aid/CPR Certified and Food Handler’s Certification or willing to obtain within the first 6-months of employment is required.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is preferred
- Driver’s License requirement
- Valid New Mexico Driver’s License with clean driving record required. This position requires driving on behalf of the company. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, meet the company’s motor vehicle record (MVR) standards, meets company’s insurance eligibility, and comply with all state and federal driving requirements. Ongoing employment is contingent upon maintaining an acceptable driving record.
