Warehouseman Job Description – UNION POSITION
The Warehouseman coordinates with Management and the Customer Service Team to process distribution efforts for our customers. The Warehouseman must be mission-oriented and able to work with time sensitive deadlines. The Warehouseman works in a diverse environment under pressure to meet mission critical deadlines. Your attention to details and organization skills will aid in the daily tasks assigned by the Exec. Vice-President, Ownership Team and Foreman. HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECEIVE INBOUND SHIPMENTS
- Inventory incoming shipments for accuracy. Check material for proper quantity, posted stock numbers, verify lot numbers and verify shipment condition.
- Check incoming shipments for damage.
- Receive and unload trucks, breakdown, verify and count shipments to complete the receiving process. Verify against packing list or pre-note, if provided, and prepare an inbound Tally.
- Process and wrap inbound shipments for storage; safely move items to location within the ware house utilizing various materials handling equipment.
SHIPPING OF OUTBOUND ORDERS
- Ship, code, label, rebuild and wrap skids for outbound shipments. If the order calls for less than a pallet quantity, have the ability to handle product weighing 50 lbs. or slightly more.
- Load trucks in accordance with DOT and safety requirements.
- Follow strict detail as it relates to product number, lot number, hazardous material instructions, and location control. Follow other instructions as required.
- Perform daily maintenance and inspection of forklifts.
- Ability to pass Employer-given Hazardous material handling classes, safety classes, and to follow written procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in asset management, warehouse processes, and distribution administration.
- Minimum of 2 years in a public warehouse distribution center or a related/similar distribution center.
- Certified or experienced Fork Lift Operator. Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
- Applicants selected for this position will require a physical, drug test and possible background screening. Must be able to lift 50 – 55 pounds.
- Hourly Wage starts at $18.72 and increases in accordance with raises per the Union Contract. $20.72/$21.92/$23.11)
- The Company pays full Union Health Care and Pension at $1386.00 per month.
- The Health Insurance covers Medical, Dental and Vision for the employees’ spouse and dependents.
