Job Summary:
At March Equipment, we are seeking a reliable and versatile Service Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain used kitchen equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and technical skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and experience with gas, electric, and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and willing to perform field service work when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain used equipment.
- Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and identify needed repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment refurbishments.
- Load, unload, move, and safely lift equipment as required.
- Deliver equipment to customer locations when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, warehouse personnel, and management to complete projects efficiently.
- Service and repair equipment utilizing gas, electric, and refrigeration systems.
- Complete service reports, repair documentation, and parts usage records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Travel to customer locations to perform field service, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience repairing and servicing commercial or industrial equipment preferred.
- Working knowledge of gas, electric, and refrigeration systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- EPA certification or refrigeration experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds or more with assistance when necessary.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various environments for extended periods.
- Ability to travel locally for field service assignments.
