Press Room Packer

Summary

As a Production / Press Room Helper, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, supporting the operation of flexo presses and ensuring high-quality output. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your role will involve reducing the amount of non-productive work that Press Operators would otherwise need to do in order to get their presses running. This may includes (but not limited to) cleaning, packaging, moving product, and getting press parts and accessories. His/her time will be allocated based on the urgency of the task at hand.

Specific Duties:

• Inspect product as it comes off the press, at maximum press speeds.
• Package product as it comes off press, at maximum press speeds.
• Clean and work with the portable press accessories, such as fanfolders, sheeter tables, and turret rewinders.
• Wash ink pumps, ink trays, and chamber blade units, and place them on the appropriate storage carts.
• Maintain the ink pumps, hoses, ink trays, and chamber blade units.
• Clean the presses and press areas.
• Assisting press operators in wash-up and set-up.
• General pressroom housekeeping.
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• One to two months experience in a manufacturing environment
• Standing and moving for a standard shift (8 to 10 hours)
• Lifting boxes which may weight up to 25 lbs

Willingness to :

• Learn press operations
• Work with dirty press parts and ink

Ability to:

• Use hands to work with tools / mechanical inclination
• Read a ruler (preferred)
• Accomplish tasks in a timely manner
• Work in a safe and organized manner
• Work constructively with co-workers and superiors
• Excellent attendance is expected
