We are looking for 2nd shift quality assurance technician/order filler.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting second-shift production staff to ensure that jobs are approved quickly, presses are properly supplied and that safety and quality standards are maintained. Primary responsibility to approve jobs as soon as the “okay” samples are present by the Press Operators.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Control:
- Using all available equipment, approve jobs at beginning of press runs and at the beginning of each shift.
- Identify product inconsistencies, troubleshoot production issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate and work with operators when correcting a quality issue.
- Obtain materials and supplies and check to verify that they conform to job specifications.
- Monitor press runs to ensure conformance to quality standards and operating procedures.
- Implement improved operating methods and procedures.
Order Filler Duties:
- When needed pull dies specified by number from storage.
- Cut and supply perforated blade or cutting rule and install in removable blade units as needed.
- Measure and mount plate to proper cylinder, apply adhesives material to cylinder and align and
- position plate on cylinder based on die size.
- Supply print cylinder and fan folder gears as specified.
- Supply proper size perforated wheels when needed.
- Using standard ink colors, mix colors as specified using ink formula scale and check for proper
- match with color book.
- Assist second shift supervisor as needed to maintain planned production schedule such as to locate missing materials and to troubleshoot pre-press related problems.
- Make printing plates as needed to meet press emergency needs.
Other Duties:
- Responsible to assist second shift Press Room Manager in facilitating effective workflow and enforcing safety and quality procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum 2 years quality control experience in manufacturing/production – preferably in a paper converting or print manufacturing environment. This is a must.
- Excellent math, ruler, written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to differential color and visually inspect product.
- Experience with and ability to work efficiently with measuring instruments
- Ability to use Computer.
- Mechanical inclination.
- Work ethic reflects sense of urgency.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and work cooperatively with other departments.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Ability to work standing and walking.
Position is Full-Time
Hours:
2nd shift: 4pm – 12:30am
Flexibility to work overtime
Overtime: during peak season overtime will be mandatory with Saturday work (most of time out by noon)
