Role Description The Associate Financial Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochester, NY. This position supports lead advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to clients, including preparing meeting materials, updating financial plans, and analyzing portfolios. Daily responsibilities include assisting with data gathering, developing recommendations in areas such as retirement planning and investment management, and helping to implement client strategies. The role also involves responding to client inquiries, coordinating with custodians and internal teams on account setup and maintenance, and ensuring accurate documentation in CRM and planning systems. The Associate Financial Advisor will contribute to research on investments and planning strategies, participate in client meetings, and help maintain a high standard of client service and compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance and understanding of capital markets and investment products.
- Demonstrated experience or coursework in Financial Planning, including cash flow, tax, estate, and education planning.
- Knowledge of Retirement Planning concepts, such as qualified plans, IRAs, distribution strategies, and Social Security considerations.
- Familiarity with Investments and Financial Advisory practices, including portfolio construction, risk assessment, and client recommendation processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; progress toward CFP® or similar designation is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a client-centric mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with financial planning or CRM software is helpful.
