What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Chicago Metropolitan Stone Fabricators?
We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator with solid knowledge of the countertop fabrication industry. If you have hands-on experience working with granite, quartz, marble, and other natural stones, and know how to program, run, and maintain CNC saws and polishing equipment, we want to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC saws, routers, and polishing machines for stone countertop production
- Read and interpret shop drawings, DXF files, templates, and job specs
- Ensure accurate cutting, edging, and polishing of quartz, granite, marble, and other natural stone materials
- Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on machines
- Monitor tooling conditions and replace tooling as needed
- Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Requirements
- Experience in the countertop fabrication industry is REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (e.g., BACA, Park Industries, or similar)
- Ability to operate and maintain CNC saws, routers, and polishing machines
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand countertop layouts
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fabrication shop environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced production setting
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
