Basic Function
Perform x-ray film evaluation, interpretation and disposition of product
manufacture according to standard. May calibrate equipment, conduct
tests, organize and sassing work. Ability to determine possible
imperfections, cracks, porosity, lack of fusion and inclusions from film
review.
Capable of establishing techniques and procedures and interpreting
codes, standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of
processed quantities.
Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all
times.
Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap
challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job
and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into
everything you make/process
Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information
Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards
Learn CM procedures M13 & SP400, traveler process, scanning and
demonstrate competency to perform
Learn all procedures and specifications needed to properly x-ray and
evaluate castings per customer requirements using approved techniques to
verify compliance
X-Ray castings to approved techniques; Must have Level 1 / 2 approval
and sign-off on all x-ray shots
Organize, document x-ray results, label and file for interpretation in
the reading room
Perform and verify calibrations, learn rework to remove flash, sand,
metal, defects or other debris from castings
Serialize parts per CM procedure and route ticket and log book
instructions
Clean film processor, cassettes and work area according to maintenance
procedure. Log information on required checklists
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; time management;
ability to multi-task; organizational skills; Microsoft Office skills
Education/Training/Experience
On-the-job-training with an experienced operator until certification is
achieved. Class room and on-the-job training required to achieve
certification.
