Firm Overview:
We have a highly respected personal injury and workers' compensation law firm dedicated to fighting for the rights of injured workers throughout the Chicagoland area. Our team of 20 attorneys continues to grow and we are looking to add to our team. We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Attorney to manage a robust caseload, advocate for clients, and secure maximum compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Independently handle a heavy caseload from intake through resolution, including pre-trial motions, negotiations, and settlements.
  • Client Advocacy: Conduct client intake, explain legal processes, provide regular updates, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients at hearings, arbitrations, and hearings before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC) [IWCC].
  • Discovery & Evidence: Draft pleadings, take and defend depositions, and secure necessary medical records and expert testimonies to build strong claims.
  • Negotiation & Settlement: Evaluate case values, negotiate effectively with insurance adjusters and defense counsel, and draft settlement contracts (e.g., Section 19 and Section 20).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bar Admission: Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois and in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated workers' compensation litigation experience.
  • Local Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act, Illinois Workers' Occupational Diseases Act, and local procedures at the Chicago IWCC hearing sites.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, legal writing, and courtroom advocacy skills, combined with a compassionate approach to client communication.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with modern case management software and legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis or Westlaw).

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
