Chicago Importing Company in Huntley IL is seeking an experienced Warehouse Inventory and SQF Compliance Supervisor to oversee inventory management and ensure adherence to SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards within our warehouse operations.

Position Purpose

The Warehouse Inventory & Safe Quality Food Compliance Supervisor is accountable for maintaining accurate inventory across several hundred SKUs, assisting pickers/packers/receivers, and ensuring compliance with our food safety and quality assurance policies.

Safe Quality Food

Learn and live out the SQF Food Safety Code: Storage and Distribution as it relates to this role in the Company; commit to training and development in SQF as required from time to time; participate responsibly in CIC’s Food Safety Culture.

Responsibilities & Functions of this Position

· Through daily cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and bin transfers, ensure 99% accuracy of inventory at all times including accurate lot codes and best by dates

· Lead master physical inventory counts three times each year

· Ensure product is rotated on a FEFO basis – First Expiration First Out

· Train pickers and packers on proper picking to ensure correct lot codes and expirations for all pick tickets and sales orders

· Work with Supply Chain on maintaining accurate inventory of printed food labels, ensuring proper stock levels for labeling when inbound shipments arrive

· Work with Supply Chain to coordinate the labeling of goods, ensuring timely reporting for efficient customs filing and release

· Work with Supply Chain to ensure we are picking product according to our short code policy, removing dated goods from the bins before they are picked/shipped

· Work with Shipping & Receiving on product put-away, ensuring visibility of pallet positions in WMS

· Fill empty bins for our pickers

· Execute transfer orders to be shipped to our co-manufacturer partners as needed

· Pick sales orders if and when needed

· Ensure warehouse floor is cleared and safe for lift trucks and pickers

· Ensure our sales samples are fresh

· Learn and get certified in SQF-Safe Quality Food (at company’s expense)

· Ensure our SQF policies and HACCP plans are being carried out every day

· Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by SQF policy

· Serve as trainer of SQF policies for our warehouse staff and temporary associates

Qualifications

· At least two years of experience in warehouse inventory supervision with at least one year in a supervisor capacity, or equivalent management experience

· Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) for receiving, bin transfers, put away, etc.

· General computer skills with experience and proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems

· Current forklift certification with excellent forklift skills

· Superior organization skills and self-management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

· Bilingual in the Spanish language a plus but not required

· Above average math skills

· Some heavy lifting required

· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and proactive

· Ability to learn systems and apply knowledge quickly

· Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

· Work on Saturdays and longer Monday through Friday hours during peak shipping seasons, especially September through November

· Ability to prioritize assigned and recurring tasks

Special Position Requirements

· Able to work every March 31, June 30, and December 31 (master physical inventory days)

· Standing, walking, lifting and bending are required

· Work in a fast-paced environment

· Must have ability to hold, use, and operate hand-held computerized inventory devices

· Follow warehouse safety protocols

· Know how to use electric and manual pallet jacks

· Supervision, safety management, develop standards, manage processes, surveillance skills, inventory control, reporting skills, analyze information, judgement, and equipment maintenance

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $47,417.02 - $52,000.00 per year
