Chicago Fittings Corp. is a major manufacturer of natural gas, propane and specialty industrial fittings. The company is privately held; family owned and has a history of quality products since its’ founding in 1930.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Shipping, receiving, and cycle counting. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do also.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for ensuring fork truck inspections are timely.
- Pick and deliver internal and external orders.
- Warehouse organization.
- Inventory movement and tracking.
- Operation of lift truck.
- Operate software.
- Allocation of product.
- Packaging product.
- Scheduling freight pickups and deliveries.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to use company software and programs, ERP and WMS.
- Inventory tracking
- General quality systems.
- Lift truck operation.
- Visual inspection.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Understand, communicate, follow, and instruct oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for freight scheduling of product; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, solve simple equations and calculate percentages. Ability to convert fractions in increments of 1/16 and convert to decimal number.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
