JOB TITLE:Sr. Coordinator, Health & Safety
DEPARTMENT:Safety
REPORTS TO: Manager, Environmental Health, and Safety
FLSA STATUS:Non-exempt, hourly
ROLE:
The Sr. Coordinator, Health & Safety will act as a liaison between Chicago Cubs Personnel and all contractors and partners. This position will perform critical administrative and reporting functions to support organization-wide health and safety programs and policies and will be responsible for creating, conducting, and reviewing various inspection and audit reports along with other related duties. This position will be required to work a varying schedule to reflect business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the execution of incident investigations across Wrigley Field and Gallagher Way by responding to incidents and gathering appropriate documentation
Proactively monitor events looking for risks and assisting in response to critical incidents as needed
Provides coaching as needed and partners with managers to administer appropriate corrective actions
Compiles trending data reports for incident investigations to inform program and policy changes
Communicates with facilities department regarding equipment repair, safety issues and energy management
Develops and maintains safety programs for all State/Federal occupational safety/health regulations
Provides and maintains training and compliance with the various safety and health programs required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Cubs standards
Oversees the implementation of third-party training as needed
Oversees the completion of compliance required inspections such as forklift inspections, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), first aid, Stop The Bleed, Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, etc. and follow-up to close any gaps
Reviews new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for additional hazards and ensure migration over into the SDS database
Coordinates bloodborne pathogen pick-ups and reconcile manifests with scheduled pick-ups
Develops and manages all on-site safety equipment mapping and ensures it is updated appropriately
Communicates effectively, leads daily work meetings, positively conveys company priorities and upcoming events, attends leadership safety meetings and general safety sensitive meetings, and partners with departments to participate in department level safety meetings
Promotes teamwork and employee morale
Oversees third party vendors while on site as needed ensuring job site safety and documentation is provided
Performs additional responsibilities as needed and as directed by management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4-year degree from an accredited college or university in the field of environmental health and safety, business, or other relevant field
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Demonstrated self-motivator and self-starter with a positive attitude and strong desire to learn
Strong ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Comfortable working with internal and external parties
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal, while open to coaching and feedback
Demonstrated exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
Ability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
Able to perform the following physical tasks: run, bend, squat, kneel, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time, assist patrons up and down stairs, lift and/or carry items weighing 15 to 60 pounds
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
First Aid, CPR, AED certified
OSHA-10 certified or greater
BBP trained and certified
HIPAA compliance training certificate
Experience utilizing different data processing tools, such as Power BI
