Camp CBG Instructor - Seasonal

Supervises: Campers, volunteers

Overview:
We are looking for six camp instructors to instruct half or full-day camp programs for children ages 2 to12 on a part-time basis. Programs are hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor science experiences. Camp CBG is a specialized program of the Education Department that focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of outdoor science, nature, art, and food-based educational programs children ages 2 to 15.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare syllabi and lesson plans in cooperation with the Manager of Camp Programs
• Instruct groups of 12 to 20 children. Supervise campers at pick-up and drop-off site
• Attend pre-camp trainings
• Request or purchase supplies in accordance with the established procedures.

Qualifications: *
Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• Must be available for a minimum of two weeks between June 6 to August 12, and for necessary pre-camp meeting dates
• Extensive teaching experience required; preference given to those with experience and/or interest in teaching science, environmental/outdoor education, and art with early childhood or middle school experience
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in education or related field required.

Physical Demands:
Must be comfortable working outdoors, standing for long periods of time, and able to lift 25 pounds.
