How will you make a difference?
Join our team at Chicago Behavioral Hospital as a Crisis Mobile Assessor PRN and play a vital role in supporting individuals in psychiatric crisis. In this position, you'll provide mobile clinical assessments and determine the appropriate level of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare partners. You’ll work directly in the field and be a key liaison between patients and inpatient or outpatient services.
Your compassion, clinical judgment, and dedication to mental health care will directly impact patient outcomes and ensure timely access to critical behavioral health services.
How You’ll Make an Impact:

Conduct mobile assessments to determine psychiatric needs and levels of care.

Coordinate referrals and transfers for appropriate treatment services.

Provide crisis intervention and facilitate pre-certification of insurance as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation, including DSM and Mental Status Exams.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, referral sources, and internal teams.

Assist with memorandums of transfer when coordinating care between hospitals.
Your Experience Matters
What we’re looking for:
Education/Licensure:
-
Registered Nurse (RN) or Master’s Degree in a human relations field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).

Licensed to practice in Illinois as a mental health professional preferred.
Experience:
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in psychiatric assessments.

Background in psychiatric hospital settings and direct patient/customer contact preferred.
Additional Requirements:

Proficient in DSM and Mental Status Exam.

Knowledge of addiction and recovery fields.
-
Must have reliable transportation.
-
Ability to work flexible hours and be part of an on-call rotation.

Compensation:
This is a full-time role. The expected compensation range is dependent on licensure and experience, and will be discussed during the interview process. We welcome candidates with a passion for mental health and a desire to grow their clinical career.
This is a PRN role, and the expected compensation for this position is $27.00 per hour. We welcome candidates with a passion for mental health and a desire to grow their clinical career.
