Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Economist to play a key role within a growing data analytics function, supporting high-profile litigation and investigations.

Working closely with senior economists, legal teams, and external experts, you will apply advanced econometric and statistical techniques to large, complex datasets, contributing directly to case strategy, expert reports, and settlement analyses.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets to support litigation, investigations, and expert witness work
• Develop and implement econometric and statistical models
• Produce expert reports, visualisations, and analytical outputs for legal proceedings
• Support damages and exposure analyses, including for settlement negotiations
• Collaborate with legal teams to identify insights and contribute to case development
• Build and enhance analytical tools, dashboards, and internal data capabilities
• Work with external vendors to implement data and analytics solutions
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in data analytics, technology, and litigation support

Key Skills

• PhD in Economics or a related quantitative discipline
• Strong experience in an economist or data science role within consulting, legal, or professional services
• Advanced knowledge of econometrics, statistical analysis, and working with large datasets
• Proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, and data visualisation platforms (e.g. Power BI)
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights
• Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and support junior team members
• Interest in applying data and economics within a litigation or regulatory context
