What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Chi Omega Fraternity Executive Headquarters?
Summary: Chi Omega Fraternity is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Graphic Designer. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Director and is responsible for creating design for print, social media and video branded elements for the Fraternity and the Chi Omega Foundation. Applicants should have an excellent eye for design, trends, and photography, and excel at bringing creative ideas to life.
Below are specific roles and responsibilities.
Brand Design: The primary responsibility of this role is to create video and design branded elements (i.e. event programs, presentations, event logo/branding, clings) for the Fraternity and Foundation. This includes but is not limited to the designs for national meetings, campaigns, logos, email, video, social media graphics, graphics for the podcast, website, and other requests from internal stakeholders. Leveraging the Brand Visualization Guideline, the Graphic Designer will create branded elements to enhance the visual look of events and campaigns.
Capture photography and video content: This role will serve as part of the in-house photography, videography, and editing team for Fraternity projects and events. As one of the in-house photographer/videographers, the Graphic Designer will meet with stakeholders to confirm shot lists, content use, and other critical details for capturing photos/video. The Graphic Designer will then edit or partner with an outside partner editor to ensure the content is in the ideal format for its intended use.
Work on the development of recruitment and branding chapter resources: The Graphic Designer will work with the Senior Marketing Director on all recruitment campaigns. This role will assist in gathering member feedback from past offerings, suggest the content needed to be created, brief the design partner agency, and help finalize and distribute the recruitment and branding toolkits to chapters.
Teach and Reinforce Chi Omega Brand Visualization Guide: Learn, teach, and share the Brand Visualization Guidelines book. Help ensure all communications from the Fraternity are on brand, ensuring all communications are approved by the Senior Marketing Director prior to CEO submission, share branding and marketing best practices with chapters via workshops, Firesides Leadership Training, etc.
Education | Experience
This position requires:
- College degree in marketing, public relations, graphic design, journalism, or a related field.
- Extra-curricular experience in design/photography.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including an optimistic, flexible attitude.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and remain motivated and deadline-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong art direction and editing skills.
- Ability to travel.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe products, and Canva, and knowledge of working with membership databases.

This position is located at the Executive Headquarters in Memphis, TN. Relocation benefits are available.
Travel
This role will involve some travel (about 25%) to national events to support the marketing department and capture photos and video footage of those events when assigned.
