Job Summary and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Assist in the admission, discharge, and transfer process of patients.
Set up tables, instruments, and supplies required for cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions; maintaining sterile technique.
Respond to patient calls, anticipate their needs, and assure their safety and comfort through regular rounds, environmental maintenance and other appropriate safety measures.
Maintain appropriate stock and equipment inventories in the department and patient rooms.
Assist in the preparation and draping of patient and operative area. Prepare, pass, and maintain a correct count of instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies utilized during the operative procedure.
Maintain surgical instruments by ensuring proper washing, packaging, sterilization, and storage.
Job Requirements
BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
CNA or Surgical Technologist certification, required
Experience in a surgical or acute care setting, preferred
