Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Critical Care Nurse at CHI Health, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease.
Each shift begins with a patient report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You’ll continue to provide whatever care or procedures are required throughout the shift. This could mean assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, transporting the patient for an MRI or CT, or administering medications. To thrive in this role, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You’ll clinically care for your patients, remain focused and attentive, and advocate for their best interests. It is your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response that puts you on the radar for advancement.
Compensation: Base rate shift differential

Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Pay Range
$36.00 - $52.20 /hour

- Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort
- Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families
- Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients
- Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary
- Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury)
- Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene)
Compensation: Base rate shift differential
Incentives: up to $10,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)

Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required with 5 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 5 months of hire
