Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems, and seat guests efficiently.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance the dining experience while increasing sales.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and presentation standards are maintained.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with sanitation regulations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support food preparation activities when needed and collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Maintain knowledge of restaurant operations including POS systems like Aloha or Micros, reservation platforms like OpenTable, and food safety protocols.
- Engage in ongoing training related to fine dining service standards, food safety practices, and customer service excellence.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Experience in fine dining settings or upscale nightlife venues like nightclubs is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in upselling, sales techniques, and guest relations are desirable.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and basic math for cash handling is essential.
