HOST HOME PROVIDER- WITH OR WITHOUT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY
LOCATION: Colorado Springs (El Paso County & Pueblo (Pueblo County)
OVERVIEW:
Our ideal Host Home Provider is compassionate and has experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). They are willing to open their homes to IDD adults who can no longer live independently. Providers offer a stable, family‑like environment with 24/7 supervision, personal care, and support with daily living skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a long‑term impact while operating as an independent contractor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide a welcoming, home‑like environment where the individual is treated as part of the household.
- Daily medication administration and health‑related assistance.
- Provide supervision based on the individual’s needs.
- Assist with daily living skills which can include bathing, dressing, meal preparation, assistance with medication needs, and at home activities.
- Provide recreation and meaningful community involvement.
- Encourage independence, life skills, and personal development.
- Foster community inclusion by providing recreation opportunities and transportation to activities or appointments.
- Complete required documentation including T‑Logs, MARs, and incident reports.
- Participate in team meetings, ISP reviews, and collaboration with care coordinators.
- Communicate effectively with agency staff, guardians, and case managers.
- Provide a private bedroom that is furnished for the according to their preferences and support needs.
- Clean, safe, and accessible home environment.
- Single‑story home preferred, especially for individuals with limited mobility.
- Ability to pass a home inspection and meet state regulatory standards.
- Homes offering wheelchair accessibility or line‑of‑sight supervision are in particularly high demand as well as individuals with permanent brain injuries.
- Provide support as needs change with age and medical conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age 21.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass all required background screenings:
- Criminal Background Investigation (CBI)
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS)
- Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
- Emotionally and physically able to provide 24/7 support, including transferring or lifting if needed.
- Willingness to support individuals with medical or behavioral needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience preferred:
- At least 1 year as a Host Home Provider or caretaker of an adult with IDD
- Behavioral support experience
- Experience working with individuals with brain injury (helpful)
- Experience working with DME to include, walkers, electric and manual wheelchairs, oxygenators etc.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and QMAP certifications. (all trainings are provided by Cheyenne Village at no cost to you).
COMPENSATION:
Host Home Providers are Independent Contractors. As a contractor, you can earn between $2,515 - $7,080 per month. You are not an employee of Cheyenne Village, and you do not receive any employee benefits. However, you are under a Cheyenne Village contract with support and assistance from the agency.
Salary : $30,180 - $84,960
