Day in the life of a Secretary:
Provides clerical support to department or unit. Performs general clerical and receptionist duties.

Here is what you will be Doing:
- Performs clerical tasks required in preparation of routine correspondence and reports.
- Assists with projects under general supervision.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintains files and record systems.
- Performs basic computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
- General management of the multi-line phone system.
- Answers all incoming calls and forwards them and/or mailbox messages to the appropriate person.
- I understand that it is not within my scope of practice to handle any medications that I might inadvertently come in contact with, including medications delivered in the pneumatic tube system. If I do come in contact with medications I know to alert a licensed employee for them to handle.
Desired Skills:
- Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Internet Explorer
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient with standard office equipment
Here is what you will need:
- Completion of or in pursuit of high school diploma or GED
Nice to have:
- Previous clerical experience
- If working in a clinical area, prior experience in a clinical setting
