Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Position Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic CT imaging while ensuring exceptional patient care, safety, and comfort. This position performs CT examinations in accordance with physician orders, established imaging protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards. The CT Technologist collaborates with radiologists, providers, and fellow team members to deliver accurate, timely diagnostic imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Greet, identify and explain CT procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance.
  • Assess patients for safety considerations prior to imaging.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect during every patient interaction.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform computed tomography examinations and administer contrast according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing patient radiation exposure.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging results.
  • Assist radiologists during CT-guided procedures and other imaging interventions as needed.

Equipment & Safety

  • Operate CT imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine equipment quality control and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate service when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
  • Ensure examination rooms remain clean, organized, and adequately stocked.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Accurately document patient information, procedures, and imaging details.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational regulations and standards.
  • Follow all Cheyenne Radiology Group policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Quality & Professional Development

  • Participate in quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain required certifications and continuing education.
  • Participate in department meetings, training, and competency assessments.
  • Support departmental goals through teamwork, flexibility, and professional accountability.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography required.
  • Current Wyoming Radiologic Technologist licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of CT imaging experience preferred.
  • Experience in an outpatient imaging environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, transfer, reposition, and assist patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
  • Push and pull imaging equipment and patient transport devices.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity sufficient to operate imaging equipment and computer systems.
  • Maintaining visual acuity is necessary to review imaging studies and patient information.
  • Exposure to radiation, bloodborne pathogens, and infectious diseases; appropriate protective equipment and safety procedures are provided and required.
  • May require occasional schedule adjustments based on patient volume and operational needs.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
