Job Summary
Chevy Chase Surgical Associates / Chevy Chase Breast Center is a busy private general surgery/breast surgery practice with two surgeons, 3 PAs, and 1 NP who operate a fully accredited ambulatory surgical facility adjacent to our office. We are ideally looking to hire recent college graduates on a pre-healthcare professional track for full-time gap year employment as a medical assistant with a 1–2-year commitment.
In this role, our medical assistants have the opportunity to interact with surgeons and advanced practice providers (our excellent PAs, NP, and RNs) with direct patient care that spans from initial consultations to routine post-operative visits. Our medical assistants become very familiar with on-site imaging modalities, minor procedures, sterile technique, sterile processing, as well as full general anesthesia cases from start to finish. Medical assistants are also responsible for various administrative tasks including communicating with insurance companies, scheduling appointments, preparing charts, filing, and managing provider schedules.
