Our Optical Frame Gallery is looking for someone to provide exceptional service to customers seeking vision solutions and stylish eyewear.
What You’ll Do:
As an Eyewear Specialist, you will play a key role in helping clients choose the right frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and fashion preferences. You'll represent our practice by greeting with a warm welcome, immediately offering help, and telling them what to expect from our eyewear shopping experience. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to helping people see and look their best. A strong sense of style, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service are essential for success in this role. Prior experience in optical retail or a related field is preferred. Join our team and make a difference in the lives of our customers by helping them find eyewear that enhances both their vision and their personal style. As an Eyewear Specialist you will also:
- Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and patient requirements
- Explore the needs and priorities of customers by asking open ended questions.
- Review prescriptions, identify special needs, and consult with optometrists and partner with management as needed
- Custom fit glasses and precisely inspect eyewear; and reinforce patients’ final selection
- Educate customers on lens types, coatings, and frame materials, as well as assist with adjustments and minor repairs using appropriate tools
- Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons for patients’ issues, and develop long-term solutions to problems
- You may also be involved in processing insurance claims and handling point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintain the visual presentation of the eyewear displays, managing inventory, and staying up to date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and optical technology
- Answer phone calls and assist with scheduling appointments as needed.
Skills & Qualifications We’re Looking for:
- Thorough and detail oriented
- Good at multitasking and able to handle fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Embraces new technology and change
- Strong customer service and retail skills
- Solid communicator, listener, and team player
- Basic math skills
- American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certified, optical dispensing experience preferred, not required
- Knowledge of current optical frame styles and trends (Have worked with luxury eyewear brands is a PLUS)
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
