What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Analyst position at Chevron?
Chevron is accepting online applications for the Laboratory Analyst position through October 11th, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (Central time).
The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for the analytical testing of process samples, finished products, and raw materials. The Laboratory Analyst must be competent in the use of GCs, titrators, environmental testing instrumentation, XRFs, and IR Spectrometers. The Laboratory Analyst is also responsible for obtaining representative tank samples, and for running Octane testing on gasoline and gasoline components. The Analyst must also know how to use the Laboratory information system (CBLISS) and be comfortable relaying information to the appropriate operating unit and the Refinery Shift Leaders (RSLs). This person must be knowledgeable in the Laboratory SOPs, laboratory safety guidelines, and refinery safety rules.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science (Chemistry) or at least 3 years of prior Lab Experience in a Refinery or similar Lab environment.
- Must have a TWIC card or the ability to obtain a TWIC card
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Good computer skills and problem-solving abilities.

Relocation will not be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
