Cashier/Customer Service

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team at a busy truckstop store. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling transactions, stocking shelves, and assisting customers with their inquiries while maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Duties

• Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately to process customer transactions.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Stock shelves with products and ensure that displays are well-maintained and visually appealing.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and resolve any issues.
• Perform product demonstrations to promote new items and enhance customer engagement.
• Maintain cleanliness in the checkout area and throughout the store to create a welcoming environment.
• Utilize retail math skills to assist with inventory management and product pricing.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support.

Experience

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills are essential for effective customer interaction.
• Familiarity with cash registers and basic cash handling procedures is beneficial.
• Experience in supervising or training staff is a plus.
• Knowledge of retail math concepts will be advantageous for inventory management tasks.
• Ability to demonstrate products effectively to enhance customer understanding and interest.
