Salad Utility Staff

Part-Time Salad/Utility Person

Cheverus High School is accepting applications for Part-Time Salad/Utility Person for our dining program. This position is 5 days per week for 4 hours a day during the lunch hours.  Food service experience is preferred but not required.  

BEGINNING SALARY RANGE:  $16.75 per hour

STATUS:  Non-Exempt (entitled to overtime), school year 

Located in Portland, Maine, Cheverus High School is a Private Catholic College Preparatory School sponsored by the Society of Jesus. Our Dining Services Department serves 385 students plus staff daily.

Tuition Discount: This position qualifies for a dependent student tuition discount benefit of 25% ($6497.50) during the first three years of employment and 50% thereafter. 

The job requirements are as follows:   

• Fill salad dressing portion cups
• Putting received inventory in their proper storage areas
• Operating cash registers for sales to students, if needed.
• Washing pots and pans and staff utensils
• Filling coolers with inventory
• Assisting grill person (i.e. wrapping sandwiches), as needed.
• Substituting for other staff members and their duties
• Other tasks as assigned by Dining Services Manager:
  • Sweep & mop floor
  • Removing trash
  • Regulating students coming through the door at lunch
• Hours:  9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday (hours are subject to change as needed) 

Experience with My Kids Spending is a plus

Valid CHRC (Criminal History Record Check )with DOE (Department of Education)
