Substitute Teacher

Cheverus Catholic School is seeking caring, dependable, and flexible substitute teachers to provide classroom instruction and supervision when regular teachers are absent. Substitute teachers help maintain a positive, faith-filled learning environment while supporting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students in Preschool through Grade 8. Responsibilities ●Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher. ●Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment. ●Supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess as assigned. ●Foster a positive learning atmosphere rooted in Catholic values and respect for all. ●Adapt instruction as needed while ensuring students remain engaged in learning activities. ●Communicate any concerns or significant events to the school administration and classroom teacher. ●Uphold school policies and procedures, including confidentiality and student safety expectations. ●Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, conduct, and interactions with students, families, and staff. Qualifications ●Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; candidates working toward a teaching degree are encouraged to apply. ●Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred. ●Strong classroom management and communication skills. ●Ability to adapt to different grade levels and classroom environments. ●Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. ●Successful completion of required background checks and diocesan safe environment training prior to employment.
