School Custodian

POSITION: Custodian (Second Shift)

CLASSIFICATION: Permanent, Non-Exempt

SHIFT: Monday – Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. during the school year; day shift during the summer

START DATE: Monday, June 8, 2026

CONTRACT: 260 days(full year)

PAY: $18.00/hour plus $0.65/hour shift differential($18.65/hour)

DESCRIPTION: The Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District seeks a reliable and dedicated individual to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for various cleaning and maintenance duties, ensuring that all areas of the school are consistently cleaned and well-maintained. This position is essential to the school's overall functioning and positive learning environment.

DUTIES: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas; Maintain cleanliness of all school including trash removal, window washing, and disinfecting surfaces; Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, notifying supervisor of inventory needs; Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring they are fully stocked and sanitized; Maintain secure access to the school, locking doors after cleaning and ensuring building safety during work hours; Assist with emergency cleanup needs, such as spills or special events; and complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong attention to detail and time management skills; Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies; Knowledge of cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment; Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment; Positive attitude and strong work ethic; and Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
