Description:
The Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered Elementary Music Teacher to inspire a love of music in our K–5 learners. The ideal candidate will cultivate foundational music skills while fostering a joyful learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging music instruction for grades K–5 aligned to the Wisconsin State and National Standards for Music.
- Incorporate active music-making techniques to build the understanding of music through singing, playing instruments, movement, composing, reading, and listening.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all learners.
- Organize and direct grade-level performances (i.e., concerts and events)
- Assess student progress and communicate growth with families.
- Promote performance opportunities within the school environment and beyond.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to support cross-curricular connections.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support school-wide goals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field; Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Music (1511) or eligibility to obtain licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction; and strong vocal/music background and piano proficiency for classroom instruction.
