We are a family-owned restaurant located in Asheville, NC. We are searching for a dynamic person to join our Host staff. Individuals must be proficient in a high volume environment.
Located in the heart of Downtown Asheville, Chestnut offers our take on hand-crafted food and cocktails. Our palette is best described as Southern American with a variety of ethnic twists. Our menu changes monthly and features a wide range of local and seasonal produce and proteins. Open 7 days a week for Brunch and Dinner. Located at 48 Biltmore Avenue, 28801.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19 - $21 depending on experience
Must be able and willing to work nights and weekends!
Host Description:
This is a mentally challenging job that allows you to use creative skills to work through the jig-saw puzzle that is putting reservations at different tables in the restaurant. This is a great position for someone interested in the inner-workings of a restaurant and/or someone who is interested in a challenging job that can provide logistics/communication skills that translate well into almost every other field.
The role of a restaurant host is two-fold: To ensure the guest is greeted, seated and served, and ensuring that guests enjoy an excellent experience. The behind the scenes stuff is more interesting. Working the reservation system so that tables get sat appropriately during a busy shift while also being the first face that every person walking in the door sees can be challenging to navigate. In order to do this job well, a host often has to be engaging and genuinely interested in the success of the establishment.
