What are the responsibilities and job description for the Remote: Mathematics Teacher: Algebra through Calculus position at Chestnut State Education Consulting?
CSEC is a comprehensive education consulting company based in Chicago's North Shore. As part of our overall program, students work with teachers one-on-one to study various disciplines. We are looking for a math/science teacher to provide support.
Masters Degree in math and/or science strongly preferred.
Someone located in or near North Shore preferred but not necessary. Fluency in English mandatory. Position is remote but looking for local candidates only.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Teach mathematics to students using a variety of instructional techniques and strategies.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.
- Foster a love for mathematics by making the subject relevant, interesting, and accessible to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in math/science (masters degree or higher strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts, including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus (strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to take on mentorship role and cultivate a partnership dynamic with students.
- Proficiency in using learning technology and software applications relevant to mathematics instruction.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively plan lessons and manage time.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
