Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Oversight: Assist in assessing resident needs and developing/revising service care plans to reflect changes in health status.
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise resident care staff, providing mentorship and ensuring compliance with community standards and infection control protocols.
- Resident Advocacy: Evaluate medical concerns, contact physicians or emergency personnel when indicated, and follow up on family inquiries with professional empathy.
- Direct Care: Participate in staff training and provide direct resident care or emergency support as needed to ensure seamless staffing coverage.
- Compliance: Maintain mandated documentation and assist with medication administration (topical, oral, etc.) in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.
- Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a geriatric setting (hospital or community health experience preferred).
- Education: High school diploma required; Medication Administration Trainer status is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication skills in English (written and oral) and a deep understanding of the psychosocial changes associated with aging.
- Credentials: A current Driver’s License is required. CPR certification and Diabetic Training are preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods as needed to support resident care.
