Position Overview
The Team Lead oversees the daily operations of the dental assistant team while maintaining a chairside assisting schedule.

Clinical Operations Manager
Clinical and Operational Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side dental assisting as scheduled and maintain flexibility to support the needs of the Adult, Pediatric, and Orthodontic departments and the broader practice.
- Coordinate patient flow to support smooth daily operations.
- Ensure thorough, timely, high-quality patient care in a clean environment
- Ensures protection of confidential patient information
- Coordinates laboratory processes, including study model inventory and laboratory account reconciliation.
- Oversee the maintenance of operatory, sterilization, and laboratory areas.
- Ensure departmental compliance with CDA safety policies, OSHA and HIPAA requirements in coordination with program coordinators.
- Support dental supply inventory, coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, and maintain an inventory of laboratory jackets as needed.
- Maintain the Dental Assistant Manual.
- Train new dental assistant staff in collaboration with CD clinical team.
- Manage clinical dental assistant team timecards for biweekly payroll.
- Escalate employee relations matters to the Clinical Operations Manager and Human Resources as needed.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and ethical manner with patients and staff.
- Manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment, including schedule interruptions and changes.
Qualifications
- At least three to five years of experience working as a dental assistant; ideally in a multi-specialty practice.
- Must be collaborative and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude.
- Current Massachusetts dental assisting license (in good standing) issued by the Board of Registration in Dentistry, as required by law.
- Current Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification.
- Completion of required annual continuing dental education units.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Current hepatitis vaccination, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Effective hand-eye coordination, and adequate vision that can distinguish colors.
- Must be able to effectively speak and hear.
- Extensive use of hands to touch, handle, or feel objects and must be able to comfortably reach with hands and arms; frequent use of manual dexterity.
- Must be able to regularly lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Regular exposure to blood, blood-borne pathogens, and other physical risks.
