Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing; two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Physically able to lift, carry, transfer, bend, stoop, and be on feet for extended periods. Position requires basic computer skills necessary to navigate and document notes in the electronic health record system. Professionalism and the ability to protect confidentiality required. Strong customer service skills required. Occupational medicine experience is preferred. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Duties
Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in a variety of practical nursing functions; performs work as required. Examples of work include observing, recording and reporting symptoms, reactions and changes in patient condition; assisting physician and nurse practitioners during patient examinations; preparing and administering prescribed medications, treatments and therapies; stocking and maintaining inventory on medications and medical supplies; phlebotomy for laboratory testing; and assisting with health assessments, screenings and testing for COVID-19, influenza, and strep A. Ancillary testing including audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, ECG, tuberculosis screenings. Urine drug screening and breath alcohol testing. Perform other work as required.
