What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at Chesterfield County, VA?
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; one year of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service; of standard office practices and procedures. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public; to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; to perform mathematical calculations; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Functions include but are not limited to assisting customers in person, telephone and written correspondence with regard to new connections, disconnections, account information, and billing questions; determine fees required; support for online/IVR payments; investigate accounts and consumption histories; respond to inquiries regarding charges, credit histories. Perform other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
