Essential Job Functions:
Provide direct literacy support for students in Grades K-3 in a small group setting
Collaborate with literacy specialist or designee to develop support model
Support differentiation strategies in reading, writing, and spelling
Provide feedback on student progress to literacy specialist or designee
Teach explicit skills to improve literacy outcomes
Provide students positive and constructive feedback
Regularly seek guidance and feedback from literacy specialist or designee

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms, stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a public school setting. The noise level is quiet to moderate.
Some knowledge of academic subjects; of school board policies and procedures and ISS regulations and practices. Demonstrated ability to tutor and supervise students, particularly in a disciplinary setting and to handle sensitive and difficult situations and students. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, parents and staff and to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility without direct supervision; to prioritize work and to follow oral and written instructions.
Bachelor’s degree or teaching license preferred.
