Claims Intake Specialist

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Claims Intake Specialist and become a vital part of our insurance claims processing operation! We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the processing of automobile, general liability, property, and workers’ compensation claims. This position is responsible for receiving claim notifications, initiating new claims, and ensuring accurate, timely entry of claim information into our systems.

Responsibilities

· Receives property and casualty claims and input Loss Report Notice into First Report Claim System.

· Prints and distributes appropriate copies.

· Enters all information, ensures that all data is correct, utilizes correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

· Identifies and distributes all unmatched mail.

· Performs all back-up duties; Police Reports; ISO’s, and scans functions.

· Answers incoming calls politely and professionally.

· Sends acknowledgement letters/e-mails to the reporting Client location(s) and distributes appropriate copies

· Assists the Claims Manager, Assistant Manager, and Supervisors by preparing reports, letters, and other materials; enters requests into trial and mediation calendars.

· Processes claims checks; prepares payment authorization forms for scanning; enters information into daily check total spreadsheet.

· Maintains Media Log.

· Performs all back-up duties; police reports; ISO’s.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Experience

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite

· Other skills required:

o Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, claimants, and professionals.

o Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, or equivalent, and be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

o Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operating procedures, manuals and medical records.

o Needs to be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

o Attendance is crucial to this position. Overtime required as needed based on business needs.

o May be called upon to perform other job tasks and/or project oriented work within skill level. In addition, may be cross-trained on select tasks for back-up purposes.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
