Duties & Responsibilities
- Psychological Services
- Provide training and resources on a wide variety of psychological topics including child, family, parent, and educational issues.
- Advance school psychology as a field through research, participation in professional organizations, and supervision of school psychologists and school psychology interns
- Support partner districts' needs for psychological services with the help of CCIU staff and the pool of contracting psychologists. (not sure if you want to put the contractors here, but staffing is the primary part of this job).
- Process referrals for psychological evaluations, including specialized evaluations such as bilingual evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, and psychosexual evaluations.
- Manage and grow staffing capacity and expertise within the staff groups to better support partner districts with a variety of psychological service needs.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with various districts as well as providers of specialized psychological services.
- Manage the recruitment and support of school psychologist interns. Work with partner host districts through the intern hiring process and intern rotation within the partner districts.
- Manage CCIU's Pearson Digital Assessment Library System (DALS) consortium including working closely with the Pearson representative and members districts to facilitating access and efficient use of the DALS.
- Oversee the lending library of psychological assessment tools.
- Vision & Hearing Services
- Oversee all areas of audiology, vision, and hearing support services.
- Oversee the Accessible Instruction Materials (AIM) program creating approximately 750 individualized student education materials.
- Supervise the delivery of ongoing service to approximately 800 students in the sensory support program each year.
- Administer Federal Quota Program for blind students, providing adapted educational materials for the blind.
- Develop, update, and monitor special education procedures and policies to assure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal mandates.
- Select, supervise, and evaluate professional and support staff.
- Develop and manage program budget, manage data collection for required reports and oversee and approve all program expenditures.
- Identify staff development needs and assist in the planning and implementation of effective staff development.
- Oversee the maintenance, timeliness and accuracy of student records and data entry into PIMS, attendance/billing database and STAR.
- Conduct staff meetings and provide a review of procedures, staff development and informal updates.
- Establish partnerships with area school districts, charter schools, other non-educational entities such as MH/DS, OVR, BVS as well as internal IU staff to assure smooth transition of students.
- Manage the registration/census of students for APH, PDE(Deaf-Blind), Recording for the Blind, Annual Survey of the Deaf.
- Manage the acquisition and storage of appropriate instructional materials including the Large Print/Braille Tactile collection for VI students.
- Supervise the development and maintenance of efficient, effective itinerant schedules.
- Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
- Travel between schools as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree required
- Doctorate preferred
- Pennsylvania Certification in Special Education Supervision or Principal K-12 or current enrollment in Superviosry program with willingness to become Emergency Certified required
- Active PDE Educational Instructional II Specialist Certification in School Psychology, Vision Support, Hearing Support, or Speech Pathology required
- Prior administrative experience preferred
- Experience in serving as a mentor to new staff preferred
Administrator, Level E: $137,969 - $172,462/yr.
- Placement on salary band is commensurate with experience in an equivalent role.
