Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Refrigeration Technician role based in Elkton, MD. The Refrigeration Technician will install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and related systems. Daily tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspecting system components, checking refrigerant levels, and verifying proper system operation. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues, then completing safe, code-compliant repairs and documenting all work performed. The technician will interact with customers on-site, provide clear status updates, maintain accurate service records, and adhere to company safety procedures and industry regulations. Responsibilities may also include participation in an on-call rotation for emergency service and assisting with equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.

Qualifications
- Strong preventive maintenance and general maintenance & repair skills for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including diagnosing mechanical and performance issues.
- Working knowledge of electricity, including reading wiring diagrams, using electrical test instruments, and safely working on energized equipment.
- Experience with HVAC systems, including start-up, commissioning, and balancing basic system performance.
- Relevant technical training or certification in refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field (e.g., trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience).
- EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel to customer sites in the Elkton, MD area.
- Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a field service team.
