Job Summary:
The Procurement Analyst supports the purchasing function by analyzing data, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely procurement of domestic raw ingredients, packaging materials, pallets, and other operational supplies. This role drives process improvements, cost optimization, and market intelligence to maintain supplier reliability and uninterrupted production flow. The position serves as a key link between procurement, operations, and finance.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor purchasing trends, supplier performance, and cost fluctuations.
- Prepare reports on material usage, inventory levels, and forecasted demand.
- Provide market updates on packaging and raw material pricing trends.
- Source and purchase domestic ingredients, packaging materials, pallets, and other plant supplies.
- Maintain accurate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track and resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantity, or delivery schedules.
- Develop and implement standardized tracking for packaging materials.
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives for packaging, pallets, and other materials.
- Recommend process enhancements to improve procurement efficiency and accuracy.
- Support vendor qualification and maintain supplier records.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm lead times and resolve issues.
- Monitor compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Work closely with scheduling and operations to align material availability with production plans.
- Coordinate with finance on cost analysis and budget adherence.

Requirements:

- Proficiency with advanced Excel, data visualization tools, or ERP reporting modules.
- Ability to troubleshoot and improve system data accuracy and workflows.
- Strong strategic sourcing experience, including supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Proven ability to manage supplier performance and qualification processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in process optimization, continuous improvement, and procurement efficiency.
- Ability to design and implement new procurement procedures, tracking systems, or KPIs
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to lead cost-reduction initiatives and support budget controls.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and digital procurement tools for purchasing and material tracking.
- Knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance in supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen), highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of supply chain planning and production alignment
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods; occasional walking or standing
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally; regular kneeling, stooping, or bending
- Ability to read and write English; convey detailed instructions clearly.
