What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant (Annapolis Allergy) position at Chesapeake Specialty Care?
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Allergy & Asthma team. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
-Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing patients for examinations
-Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records
-Assist with medical procedures and treatments under the supervision of healthcare providers
-Administer injections, and perform Allergy testing
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
-Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective patient care
- Assist in obtaining Prior Authorizations for Medications for patients
-Perform basic life support techniques when necessary
Skills:
-Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately assess patient conditions
-Familiarity with medical terminology
-Ability to provide medical administrative support, including accurate documentation and record keeping
-Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
-Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations with composure
Qualifications:
-Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
-Certification as a Medical Assistant required
-Previous experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
-Previous experience with Cover my meds, an advantage
