SHOP HAND - OSM
REPORTS TO: OSM Foreman / On-Site Foreman / Shipyard Superintendent
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist and work closely with the warehouse team and receiving supervisor by handling the receiving of items in the warehouse and ensuring that shipments are inspected, sorted, and assigned locations to be stored.

HAZARDS: Weather, fumes, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, equipment, and vibration.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible position

Essential Functions & Tasks
- Clean and organize shop
- Unload received shipments
- Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials around the shipyard
- Moving materials from the local warehouse to shipyard
- Operate hand-held powered equipment and manual tools
- Practice proper safety always
- Follow instructions from supervisors/supervisors on site
- Keep the job site clean
- All other duties as assigned based on operational needs
- Experience as a shop hand a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
- Forklift experience
- Basic knowledge of shop tools, terminology, and equipment
- Safe use of all tools and equipment
- Work independently and with teams
- Valid driver’s license
- All types of physical movement are required for this position to successfully perform the essential functions.
- Ability to use upper and lower extremities.
- Ability to work outside in heat, inclement weather, and cold.
- Ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment, on ladders up to 24' at heights up to 70', stairs, scaffolds, through small accesses, enter inside of tanks, and confined spaces, through hatches, and manholes throughout much of the work shift.
- Ability to work over bodies of water.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain, including loose pack gravel

Shifts
- Monday – Friday
- Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- Overtime and Weekend required based on business needs
- Competitive Pay – $21 - $22 depending on experience and interview
