What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Chesapeake Care Clinic?
Chesapeake Care is a non-profit healthcare clinic established in 1992. The Clinic provides both medical and dental services to underserved, low-income residents of South Hampton Roads. The Clinic has a dedicated group of volunteer physicians, dentists, and medical professionals and strong affiliations with several healthcare systems in the area.
The dental assistant is responsible for providing a safe and professional environment in the dental room. Duties will entail interacting and working with volunteers, patients and staff members and requires the highest level of professionalism.
Responsibilities Include : performing basic dental care tasks and assisting multiple dentists during various treatment procedures, preparing equipment and materials for treatment, performing administrative work including making appointments, answering phones, attending staff meetings, following policies and procedures of Chesapeake Care.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in recruitment of volunteers
- Coordinate patient flow
- Provide patient education
- Order and maintain dental supplies and equipment
- Maintain complete electronic and paper patient records
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current x-ray certification.
- CPR certification
- Ability to multi-task.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications skills.
- High personal and professional standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of Chesapeake Care.
Position is hourly, part time, Tuesday - Friday 8:30am-5p. Starting pay $15-20 an hour depending on experience.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
