Chesaning Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Infection Preventionist and Wound Care Nurse. This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys building relationships with residents while ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, infection prevention, and wound management in a close-knit enviornment.
As a smaller skilled nursing facility, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day while working closely with leadership, providers, therapy, and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with CMS, CDC, and Michigan regulations.
- Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, trending, and reporting.
- Lead infection prevention education for staff and provide ongoing competency training.
- Perform routine wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Complete weekly wound rounds and monitor healing progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members regarding wound and infection management.
- Ensure accurate documentation in PointClickCare (PCC).
- Monitor antibiotic stewardship practices.
- Participate in QAPI initiatives related to infection prevention and wound care.
- Assist with regulatory surveys and ensure survey readiness.
- Provide clinical support and education to nursing staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Wound care experience preferred.
- Infection Prevention experience preferred.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, or willingness to obtain) preferred.
- Infection Prevention certification (CIC or willingness to obtain) preferred.
- Strong assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
Pay: $73,500.00 - $88,400.00 per year
