Position Summary
The Cherry Tree Borough Police Department is seeking qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals for the position of Part-Time Police Officer. Under general supervision, officers perform law enforcement and crime prevention duties to maintain public safety, protect life and property, and enforce federal, state, and local laws. We currently have contacts with Pine Township, Montgomery Township, Grant Township and Marion Center Borough, to provide services. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling part-time hours, Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Weekends.
. Officers will start out at the hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle and/or on foot to deter crime and enforce laws
- Respond to calls for service, including emergencies and non-emergencies
- Conduct traffic enforcement and investigate motor vehicle crashes.
- Investigate criminal incidents and prepare detailed written reports
- Make lawful arrests and testify in court proceedings
- Enforce state statutes and local ordinances
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Preferred Prior law enforcement experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma, College Degree or GED.
- Current PA Act 120 Certification.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background investigation.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
