Legal Assistant
Location: Dothan, AL
Cherry & Irwin is a respected personal injury law firm representing clients in motor vehicle accidents, trucking litigation, medical malpractice, and products liability claims. We are growing and seeking an Executive Legal Operations Assistant to support our Managing Partner and legal team.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the Managing Partner’s right hand - anticipating needs, keeping priorities visible, ensuring information is at hand, and resurfacing important action items until completion.
- Manage calendars, reminders, texts, and check-ins—preparing materials in advance and ensuring commitments are carried through.
- Focus by blocking calendar time, prompting follow-through, and keeping important tasks moving without being overbearing.
- Prepare, draft, and manage legal documents, pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and case files.
- Keep the workspace clear and functional by reviewing desk notes, lists, and papers.
- Maintain both digital and physical systems of task organization, providing regular status updates and creating simple, clear summaries that highlight progress and next steps.
- Ability to review and summarize medical records, findings, and diagnoses.

Position Requirements
- Degree or paralegal training preferred.
- 2 years of prior experience as a legal secretary, paralegal, or executive assistant preferred (education and work ethic may substitute).
- Power user in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Westlaw, Lexis Nexis or ProLaw is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience reviewing, summarizing and communicating findings from medical records.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
