A Float Registered Nurse (RN) provides competent inpatient dialysis care across multiple locations, including Portsmouth, Dartmouth, Biddeford, Manchester, Greater Boston, and North Shore areas.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including data collection and treatment adjustments.
- Educate patients and families on treatment and health needs.
- Administer medications, transfusions, and manage emergency responses.
- Delegate tasks to care staff and serve as a resource and mentor for team members.
- Coordinate communication among healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and meet CAP requirements for advancement.
- Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of nephrology nursing experience, with preferred acute dialysis background.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving patients and equipment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- May provide specialized instructions and assist in outpatient facilities.
- Supervision of care staff after meeting specific training and experience criteria.
- Must pass color blindness test and participate in on-call rotations.
- Travel between facilities and participation in training required.
- Maintains compliance with all policies, standards, and regulations.
