JOB SUMMARY: Lead the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process for all Transportation Department positions, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and a continuous pipeline of qualified employees. This position combines strategic human resources expertise with strong project management and data analysis skills to support workforce stability, operational efficiency, and alignment with district values. Working under the direction of Human Resources leadership and in partnership with the Director of Transportation and Safety and Training Manager, this position independently manages recruitment timelines, applicant tracking, interview coordination, and onboarding logistics.

Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time
Lead full-cycle recruitment for Transportation positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and hiring decisions in collaboration with Human Resources leadership, Transportation leadership, and Talent Management team.
Daily 25%
Manage applicant flow and documentation through Oracle and other HR systems; ensure timely and accurate tracking of candidate progress from application through onboarding.
Daily 20%
Coordinate onboarding and pre-employment processes, including background checks, licensing, physicals, and other requirements; communicate regularly with candidates to ensure readiness for training start dates.
Daily 15%
Collaborate with the Safety and Training Manager to align hiring and training schedules; maintain rolling recruitment and training calendars to ensure consistent class starts every three weeks.
Weekly 10%
Collect, analyze, and report data related to recruitment metrics, retention rates, and post-hire outcomes; identify trends and make recommendations for process improvement.
Weekly 10%
Serve as liaison between HR and the Transportation Department to ensure clear communication, compliance, and process alignment.
Weekly 5%
Partner with Talent Management to develop, implement, and track targeted recruitment strategies, including job fairs, outreach events, and candidate engagement initiatives.

- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- Three (3) years of professional work experience in recruitment, human resources, or talent acquisition
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems such as Oracle
- Strong understanding of employment and hiring best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position
- Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization
